Brokers: What Your Clients Want in a Dental Plan

May 7, 2015 Michael Orozco

As a broker, your clients look to you to help them decide which benefits plans make the most sense for their company and employees.

But what do employers want in a dental plan provider? Here are some considerations:

One size doesn’t fit all.

As Hawaii’s first and largest dental plan provider, we offer a wide variety of plans for groups of all sizes. We also provide creative options for groups with limited budgets.

Network size matters.

HDS has more than 600,000 members statewide. Not only do we have the largest dentist network, we achieve real cost savings too.

Employees want dental benefits.

Dental benefits contribute to employee retention and satisfaction. The statistics speak for themselves – in 2000, only 31 percent of all businesses offered dental benefits. Today, 53 percent of employers offer dental coverage. Offering dental benefits may also help employers attract new talent. New grads rank dental insurance among the top five most important workplace benefits.
