Spring Clean Your Island Smile

May 14, 2015 Michael Orozco

Hello Sun! Thankfully as Hawaii’s hottest season arrives, sunny smiles return too. One “fun” part of spring is the spring-cleaning. So, why not spring clean your dental routine too?

It’s time for your floss, toothpaste, and toothbrush to come together for a fresh mouth. Your teeth will love the attention.

With these four tips for a fresh smile, your toothbrush will be singing your praises.

1. Replace your toothbrush every three months.

As the bristles wear down, they become less effective in reaching the tough spots in your mouth that need to be cleaned.

2. Schedule a checkup with your dentist.

All your teeth need is love from a dental cleaning. This will give your dentist a chance to take a close look at your mouth to ensure that you don’t have any undetected problems.

3. Stay hydrated.

Not only does water help your digestive system skin, it also helps keep your teeth healthy and clean. Drinking more water will help bacteria flush off your teeth.

4. Say goodbye to bad breath once and for all.

Bad breath can be an early sign of gum disease.

Stick to your new spring-cleaning dental routine and all your tooth troubles will seem far away.
