3 Maui Sites that are Smile Lookalikes

February 18, 2016 Sara Fossum

As a dental insurance company, we tend to see smiles everywhere we go—literally. Check out these 3 smile-inspired island sites:

1. Molokini Crater (Gecko’s Head)

Hawaii 1

This island’s shape screams “smile!” Though we like to think the ocean between Maui and Kaho’olawe is just sharing a grin, legend has it that Molokini was formed when the goddess Pele split a gecko in half after a lover’s quarrel. Today the area serves as a great place for snorkeling and scuba diving.

2. The Heart at Nakalele Point

Hawaii 2

A cavity we actually love! This cavity isn’t tooth decay, but rather a heart-shaped puka located at Nakalele Point in northern Maui. The area is an incredible hiking destination, where you can see sites like the Nakalele Blowhole.

3. Lahaina Banyan Court Park

Hawaii 3

We love strong healthy roots—in teeth and trees! Besides a healthy smile, there are no better looking roots than on a Hawaiian Banyan tree. You can find Banyan trees everywhere on the islands, but we admire the oldest one located in Banyan Court Park on Maui.

What other sites remind you of a smile? Share your photos on Facebook or Twitter!
