Wintertime in Hawaii Makes Sunny Smiles

January 15, 2015 Michael Orozco

In Hawaii, we are extremely fortunate to live in a warm, tropical atmosphere. Residents and visitors alike enjoy our year-round summer sun.

Soaking up sun on the Hawaiian sand is a surefire way to make any person smile. But did you know the sun actually benefits your grin?

Sun contains natural vitamin D, an essential vitamin for healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium, another crucial vitamin for teeth. Vitamin D also benefits your muscles, and helps your immune system fight bacteria and viruses.

So, if you’re hitting the beach this winter, remember to protect your lips and skin with sunscreen. And, while you bathe in the sun, make sure your teeth bathe in water. Stay hydrated – drink plenty of H2O!
